Made-to-order spring manufacturing
The CO.M.AF Spring Works, based in Calenzano, in the province of Florence, specializes in the manufacture of custom industrial springs for a wide range of applications.
The company works exclusively to order, using metal wire and strip, along with other materials, to make springs and elastic components in a range of shapes, sizes and configurations. Drawing on experience gained since 1970 and specialized machinery, CO.M.AF can handle a variety of manufacturing processes, taking into account the specifications required for each product.
Compression Springs
Compression springs can be cylindrical, conical or biconical, with right- or left-hand coils, and made from round wire with a diameter of at least 0.20 mm. The maximum wire diameter depends on the specifications of the spring required. Springs can also be closed and ground at the ends.
Extension springs
Extension springs can be cylindrical, conical, or double-conical, with right- or left-hand winding, made from round wire with a diameter of at least 0.20 mm. The maximum wire diameter depends on the specifications of the spring required. They can be manufactured with the following types of ends: English hook, half German hook, German hook, side hook (English or German), swivel hook, or plain ends for use with a spring eye or screw-in plug.
Torsion or double-torsion springs
Springs can be manufactured with open or closed coils, right- or left-hand winding, and straight or shaped ends, using round wire with a diameter of at least 0.30 mm. The maximum wire diameter depends on the specifications of the spring required.
Strip springs
They can be made from steel strip in the shapes and sizes requested by the customer, using custom dies made in-house to the customer's specifications and operated manually or with presses and strip-bending machines.
Spring components
Complex-shaped springs made either by hand for small quantities or on wire-forming machines for larger runs, using round-section wire with diameters starting at 0.20 mm. The maximum wire diameter depends on the specifications of the spring required.
