Custom spring manufacturing
Making a spring requires careful attention to its dimensions, shape and material properties. Based in Calenzano, in the province of Florence, Mollificio CO.M.AF specialises in the manufacture of industrial springs and elastic components
for businesses across all sectors that use springs.
Production takes place in a facility of approximately 750 m², equipped for a range of machining operations. Every item is made to order, based on the customer’s specifications.
We use various types of wire and strip to manufacture our products.
Round-section wire
Carbon steel or stainless steel wire is used, classified in accordance with both the European UNI EN series standards and the American AISI coding system. Plain iron, brass, and phosphor bronze can also be used. Various types of hardenable wire are also available.
Strip
We use hardened or hardenable carbon steel or stainless steel strip in soft, half-hard or hard tempers, classified according to both European standards and American AISI standards. We can also use soft iron or brass strip.
Our processes in three steps

Wire coiling and forming
We produce springs and elastic components using CNC-controlled coiling machines, multi-slide machines and wire-forming machines to create shapes for a wide range of applications.

Strip processing
We use milling machines and workshop equipment to prepare the tools used to manufacture strip springs and custom-formed parts.

Manufacturing with manual and CNC machinery
We combine traditional manufacturing methods with CNC systems, selecting equipment according to the type and characteristics of each component.
